Mom Calling Contest

New Iberia Spanish Festival

Come show off your best “Mom Call!” Contestants will compete to see who can deliver the most entertaining and creative call for their mom.

Age Divisions

Participants will compete in the following divisions:

1. Under 5 Years Old

2. Ages 6–11

3. Ages 12–16

Registration

• Registration will take place the day of the contest at the Steamboat Pavilion Stage area.

• Participants should register at least 15 minutes before the contest begins.

• A parent or guardian must sign the registration form for participants under 18.

Contest Format

• Contestants will take the stage one at a time.

• Each contestant will perform their best “Mom Call” (how they call for their mom at home).

• Each participant will have up to 10 seconds to perform their call.

• Contestants may add personality, humor, gestures, or acting to make their call memorable.

Judging

• Judges will be selected by random draw prior to the contest.

• Judging will be based on personality, creativity, and entertainment value — NOT volume or loudness.

• Overall Entertainment

Prizes

• One winner will be selected from each age division.

• Each winner will receive a $50 cash prize.

• All participants will receive a kids coupon from Mama's Fried Chicken.

Additional Rules

• The contest is intended to be fun and family-friendly.

• Contestants must follow directions from festival staff.

• The judges’ decisions are final.

• Festival organizers reserve the right to adjust the contest format if necessary.
